The shortest workflow to start making videos as a doctor (quite literally)

Most doctors overthink video creation. Cameras, lights, scripts, editing, how they look, what colleagues will say. That thinking is the real blocker. Not time. Not skill.

Here is the simplest workflow I use. You can copy this exactly and start today.

Perfection is the enemy of good. And in healthcare marketing, like it or not, jo dikhta hai woh bikta hai.

Yes, watching yourself on camera can feel embarrassing. Yes, your first few videos will feel awkward. That is normal. Avoiding it does not make it go away. Doing it repeatedly does.

  1. Remove Hesitation: Start Anonymously with a Fresh Account

    Create a new Instagram account from a fresh device where you've never logged in before. Ideally, keep this device connected only to your home Wi-Fi network and upload exclusively from there.

    Why this works: This isolates your new professional persona from your personal contacts. You won't appear in their "People You May Know" suggestions, and your videos are less likely to show up in their feeds. This gives you the freedom to start without the fear of judgment from friends or family.

    Extra Protection: For total peace of mind, you can proactively block specific people (like colleagues or relatives) on this new account. This adds an extra layer of privacy so you can build confidence first. Happy posting!

  2. Generate video ideas using AI (do not brainstorm manually)

    Do not sit and think, "What should I post?" Use a simple prompt like this:

    You are a medical content assistant for a [your specialty] doctor. Search widely and come up with trendy, patient-friendly video ideas that help educate people and slowly build trust. These should not be ads. The goal is to attract patients or health-interested people.

    You will get a list of ideas. Pick one. Do not optimise. Do not compare. Just pick.

  3. Turn the idea into a script (high retention, simple language)

    Now take that idea and use another prompt:

    You are a medical content strategist and assistant for a [your specialty] doctor.

    Your goal is to turn the following idea into a high-impact, short-form video script (under 60 seconds) for Instagram/Shorts. Use the 'Hook-Value-CTA' framework.

    Hook: Start with a strong, curiosity-inducing hook that addresses a common patient pain point or myth.
    Value: Explain the concept in 3-4 simple sentences. Use analogies instead of medical jargon. Focus on what the patient needs to know.
    Style: Keep the language conversational, like a doctor talking to a patient in an OPD, not a classroom lecture.
    CTA: End with a simple call to action like "Follow for more [specialty] tips" or "Share this with someone who needs it."

    Read the script once. Make small additions in your own words if you want. Do not rewrite the entire thing.

  4. Record using a teleprompter (no memorising)

    Download any teleprompter app. Paste the script. Place the phone at eye level. Hit record. Read it out.

    That's it. No retakes unless you completely mess up. Minor mistakes are fine. Recording is the easy part. Most doctors delay even this. Do not.

  5. Editing (keep it stupidly simple)
